Our Philosophy

We blend the calm of a zen garden with the vitality of organic farming. Located in the heart of the city, Upstate HC builds a thriving, collaborative community that grows nutritious produce and sustainable ideas for urban living.

Mission & Focus

Create accessible, soil-first gardens that empower neighbors to grow food together. We prioritize soil health, compost mastery, water-wise practices, and seasonal harvests suitable for small urban spaces.

2020 — Seed to Society: Community Soil Health

Our first neighborhood plot transformed unused spaces into living soil beds. Residents learned composting, raised beds, and micro-irrigation, fostering a shared sense of stewardship.

2021 — Urban Farmers Circle

Monthly gatherings connected beginners and seasoned growers. We exchanged seeds, held seed-saving workshops, and planned edible landscapes for apartment rooftops and community yards.

2022 — Organic Practices Certification

Adoption of organic soil amendments, natural pest management, and mindful planting calendars. We documented best practices to guide urban plots with limited space.

2023 — Harvest & Harmony Festival

Annual celebration inviting neighbors to share harvests, recipes, and garden stories. The festival reinforced our commitment to inclusive, community-led growth.

2024 — Planting Together Initiative

Collaborative plots across multi-family housing projects, featuring rain capture and drought-tolerant species to sustain city gardens through seasons.
